Extra entry #10 - English Language Challenges
The last entry of these extra entries, finally! I don't really like to write a lot about things that i'm not interested, but of this is the end, I'll do my best.
My english is the worst english you ever heard... ok not, but it's not completed. I still have some dificulties to pronounce it, because I didn't really practiced it. Also, I don't have a huge use of this language, because I didn't had read a lot of books on english, nevertheless, I have a vocabulary that allows me to express my ideas, at least basically.
But the area where I really have problems is on listening. I can't understand very welll when I hear british english, because I'm used to listen american english, on all it's forms. Even so, I have little problems with american english speakers, because some of them doesn't pronounce it very clear, so it dificults me to understand what they're saying. Nevertheless I'm still learning and studying how to deal with it.
I expect to don't leave this english learning here. I really want to prepare myself for take the TOEFL course, because I wan't to receive a carton who certifies me that I speak english, and then to take some courses about this language and others around the world.
For this, as I see, this will not be my last entry. I supose that I will must to do another entries for the TOEFL course, and if I don't, I think that I would continue this habit for a little more time.
Extra entry #9 - Food, my favorite one
One of my guilty pleasure is the lemon pie. I love it's taste, it's texture and it's color. I had tasted a lot of these, so I can recognize a good pie. I don't remember when was the first time when I tasted it, but I imagine that there was a party at my taste buds
Also, my mom is a confectioner, so every year, at my birthday, she makes me a delicious lemon pie, and this is the best gift that anyone could give me, because it makes me really happy. I still remember that, some years ago, she made me a cake-pie. I t was a sort of giant pie, and I ate at least half of all.
I really love this kind of food, in general. Sugar is my happyness and my curse, because I allways feel good when I eat it, but I'm sure that I'll have diabetes on the future. Nevertheless I don't care, because I would die happy if I lived as I wanted, but I take some cautions for not be "excesively happy".
Soon it will be my birthday, so I expect again a lemon pie, directly to my vein hahaha. This is not the sort of gifts what you expecto to don't receive again anda again, as socks or the classic "sahne-nuss", but those gifts who you expect anxiouslly every year.
If you don't like sweets, give it a chance, because isn't just sweet, it's acid t. Now, if you don't like none of these, you would probably prefer to lick a brace hahaha. Lemon pie is love, lemon pie is life, bye!

Extra entry #8 - Video games, the other side of the life.
Well, let's start again. One of my favorite topics, at video game's industry, is RPG. This is because this kind of games immerses you completely on a new world, full of mystic and magic, most of times. That's why, one of my favorite video game's saga is Final Fantasy.
This media franchise was created by Hirnobu Sakaguchi, at 1987, and is still current. It´s first game, homonymous, had the classic topic of role games: magic, dragons, classes, a fantastic world, etc. Nevertheless, while this saga was advancing, it took a steam-punk way, but never forgetting this fantasy world.
This saga has 14 main titles, some connected between them, others not at all, but all stories shares one legend: the legend of the four crystals of light, and the four crystals of darkness. Also it has a lot of "spin-off games", based on another stories or paralel worlds, but one thing connects them all, the crystals.
I had played this franchise since ever, and I like it so much. I enjoy to immerse myself on this deep world, full of mystic and fantasy, although I don't actually have the money for buy the lastest video games console. I expect that one day I'll earn a lot of money with my super job at public administration, and then I'll buy all those game consoles for play Final Fantasy at my free time (or at job hahaha).
And you? Do you have another RPG saga which you prefers?

Extra entry #7 - Good and bad stuff
Hi again. This is a little summary of good and bad things that happened this year. I hate to write just about my staff, so I'm going to write about different events.
First, I want to talk about a great event that surprised me: a couple of friends will be parents. It surprised me, because they aren't too older than me, and they never talked so much about have a child, so when I knew it, I couldn't believe it, but I felt so happy for them, and I'm sure that I'll be happier when the little child, Helena, born.
Another big event that happened me, recently, is that I found a drummer for my band. This past, i don't know, yesterday?, or before that, so I can advance a little more on this personal project, and I can't wait for see the results of have a drummer.
Another event, not bigger but important, is that my mom started to work on the formal way again. She is an inspector at a school, and all this time she was doing it very well. With this, my little brother started to keep alone at my home, but I'm sure that it will help him to grow up.
But all isn't milk and honey. This year, at the first half, I failed a course. It was because I couldn't manage my time, so it past me the account. Also, I wasn't able to take a course, and this, for now, is delaying my graduation. Nevertheless, I still have a chance to change it.
I guess that this last is the only thing I can remark about "bad stuff" during this year. If I take a look, there are more good things than bad things, so I would affirm that this has been a good year.

Extra entry #6 - How green am I?
Hi again. I'm not very well at recycling time, because I'm not one of those persons who cares about each detail they does. Nevertheless, I think that our planet deserves all our respect, our love and our careness, because it's our home, and nobody wants to live on a stinky and dirty home.
I'm not a really green guy, because I don't try to make our world better (I'm too lazy for that, honestly), but I don't contribute to destroy it. I don't throw garbage on the street, I don't smoke or burn toxical things, and sometimes, when I'm walking (and I'm on time), I pick up garbage on my way.
Despite this, I can't consider my self "green", because I continue using aerosol, I don't recycle, I use public transportation instead a bicycle, etc., but I think that those things are a social behavior, and is lead by the habits of each one, therefore, if we want to be the change, we need to let the social behaviors, and start to think and act by ourselves. Actually this is harder for me.
Nevertheless, my habits where changing across the time. I started, some years ago, to be careful with electricity, water and all those exhaustible resources, because I reflected about it's shortage, and then I started to disconnect unused artifacts, turn off unused lights, turn on the heater only if it's very cold, etc.
If I could, why not you? step by step, be the change!

Extra entry #5 - My future job
I'll say it again: i don't love public administration, so I don't really want to work on this area. Nevertheless, when I have my degree, I should have a job relationed with this.
It's hard to think about a job relationed with public affairs, because there is a long list. Nevertheless, I expect to work on a municipallity, because it's easy to get a job there. I imagine myself with a desk full of papers (overdue work), and probably I would kick off my job, and start to study the only think I would like: dubbing.
Menawhile, I'll corrupt the State from the inside muahaha, and maybe I'll start a little business, managed by me, me, and... me.
I have an uncle who works on a public service, at "Servicio Médico Legal", and he haves the chance to travel a lot, but I don't know the exactly reason of that. I would like to travel like him (and get paid for it), but I don't know what is the job that could help me to accomplish it.
I'm afraid about a full paperwork job, because it's boring. Nevertheless, I'll with certainty end stamping and signing papers, hirings, resolutions, etc. But I promise to myself, every day, that one day all the world will recognize me by my voice, and not by my state's corruption.

Extra entry #4 - My favorite TV serie.
Hi there. This time i'm going to write about my favorite TV serie. I don't real watch it at TV, because it's not emitted on Occident. Maybe you already guessed what kind of serie I'm talking about, oriental series called anime.
I think I mentioned before that I enjoy anime, and one of my favorite series on this way is Code Geass. Why? Because it has an interesting story, and the main character is simply brilliant. Besides it haves a dense story, a deep social criticism, battles, psychological stories, love stories... in short, a complete storyline.
This serie was emitted during 2008, and the first time I watched it was at 2010, 4 years ago. I was at my home, on vacations (a lot of free time), and I saw this anime recommended on a web site. I gave it a chance, and then I couldn't stop. It was a 14 hours marathon, where I watched about 40 chapters. It's story completely absorbed me, and since that time I had never watched another similar anime who can compare to this.
I really recommend this serie, you'll enjoy its story a lot. That's all for today, thanks for read.

Extra entry #3 - My best holidays.
When I was a child (about 12 years old), I went to the south of Chile with my aunt and my cousin. We met Villarrica, Pucon, Valdivia and Teja Island, all in a travel of 2 weeks. Although I felt like I was on a 2 month's travel, because I had a lot of experiences there.
We camped by Villarrica's lake, went to some fairs, ate a lot of food, and had a lot of fun. I enjoyed myself because I love cold weather, lakes and camping. Besides, we went to thermal springs, where I learned to swim (yes, it's curious).
I remember that when we where at Valdivia, it rained every 5 minutes, and stopped during 5 minutes. Then started to rain again for a short period of time. I enjoyed it because I like the rain, and walk through it.
On this travel I discovered that my dreamy home would be located on a place like this, near a lake, surrounded by trees. Sometimes, specially at winter, I close my eyes, and with the feeling of wind's breath, I imagine that I'm there again, at my beloved south of Chile.

Extra entry #2 - A country I'd like to visit
If you search on older entries of this blog, you will find six wonderfull places I would like to visit. The first was located on an interesting country called Japan.
I'm a history lover, and it allways had been like this. So, on an historical perspective, I think that Japan is probably the most curious country I had seen. It is because their development, technological and economical, was extremely accelerated, compared to the other countries of 20th century.
This abrupt change of ages (from the Middle Age to the Contemporary Age), turned Japan in a country where their classical structures are mixed with advanced technology. For this, I think that is the best place to visit if you want to see the intact Middle Age.
I would like to visit their temples, to learn their ancient custom, eat their tasty food, and maybe (why not?) meet a pretty japanese girl hahaha.
Also, I want to compare with my own eyes who subway system is worst, ours or theirs. I mean, is it true that they travel more tight than us? It would be interesting to see.

Extra entry #1 - My Dream Job
![]() |
| Jorge "El Tata" Arvizu. He dubbed all this characters and more. |
Well, let's start again this. A dreamy job is what we all want to have when we start a professional career. Nevertheless, it's not my case. I started to study Public Administration because I need a professional title, for please my parents, so my dream job is far of being a minister, or an administrative head, or whatever job that public administrators does.
I really wanted to make something with my voice, because I have a deep voice. So I think that my dream job would be a "radio announcer" or a "voiceover actor".
For the first job, I had an approach when I entered on Public Administration, because we have a student's radio called "Frecuencia Inapina", and I joined them at the beginning of 2013. It was a really pleasant experience, because I had a lot of fun making radio shows, sharing with guests, and doing all those things that an announcer does. For the second job, I didn't had an approach yet, but I'm still thinking that dubbing would be an enjoyable profession. I dream with the day when I can hear my voice on a film's character, or on a documentary, or something like that.

Blog Assignment #10 - The end of a long journey...
I must to be completely honest at this point about the Blog Assignments: it was a really tedious task. I mean, writing each week the first thing that crossed my mind, it didn't look attractive. But as the entries were written, it was suspenseful thinking about "what is the topic for this week?"
There were some entries that I liked to write, as with writing about my six favourite places to visit, or write about things I wanted to post. But other entries were a really boring task, such as the entries related with my career. This is because I don't love what I'm studying, and I think that going to classes is exhaustive enough and writing about it is too much.
Anyway, bored or not, this task helped me to expand my vocabulary, improve my grammar, and start to think in English. In the future, I would include one assignment where the students should record themselves speaking in English. I think it would improve our pronunciation skills, and incidentally, our oral presentation skills.
Finally, I really wanted to write about winter, because winter is coming hahaha. This was my last entry and this is the end of the snaking road, thanks for read

Blog Assignment #9 - What a wonderful home!
When I was reading the instructions for this blog, I started to reflect in a lot of beautiful places where I would call a house my home. After some minutes, I decided that my home must be near a lagoon, in the quietness of the south of Chile.
The cottage in the picture is from Araucania Region, Chile, and it's near the Panguipulli lagoon (I didn't take this picture).
I think that my home should be a small cottage, because I would feel more confortable there than in a big house. However, it must have a big barbeque for roast a lot of meal. Also, it should have a balcony for look the landscape, and enjoy the wind. As well, it must have a minibar inside, for enjoy a rum sometimes, while I write or I read something. Aditionally. it must have a big window or a picture window, where I can see the rain fall, and a big sofa in front of it for enjoy it.
I would keep living in a home like this all my life. I don't mind if it's located at an urban or rural zone, while this doesn't bother me at my home, but it's important that it's located, at least, near an urban zone, because I must buy my stuff, after all, and I don't pretend to live like a farmer for obtain my food, for example.
Why would I choose this remote place, cold, rainy and small? Because I enjoy the quietness, I hate the huge groups of people, and I love the lagoons, its fresh breeze, and its deep blue color. Reasons for the big barbeque? Because, after all, I enjoy my time with my friends too, and I must have a space for sharing with them.

Blog Assignment #8 - Six wonderful places
If you ask me where I would go someday, I can mention 6 places in the world, let's start the ranking:
I think that this place is more shining than New York. It's a paradise which combines manga & anime stores with videogames. I want to see with my own eyes their bigger buildings, full of announces.
I think I could go by sea, on a ship, because I don't like airplanes, and I would stay for one month.
1º Akihabara, Japan
I think that this place is more shining than New York. It's a paradise which combines manga & anime stores with videogames. I want to see with my own eyes their bigger buildings, full of announces.
I think I could go by sea, on a ship, because I don't like airplanes, and I would stay for one month.
2º Paris, France
My second place could be Paris, because I allways wanted to see Eiffel Tower. Maybe I would stay for a week, because I don't know another place to visit there.
I should arrive there on airplaine, because it's faster, despite I don't like the idea of trip by this transport.
3º London, England
My third place would be London, because I want to see Big Ben Tower, between other famous places.
I would stay for one month, because I want to have a "british life", and know how is it.
I would like to travel there by train through Eurotunel, because I think it would be a nice experience to live.
4º Las Vegas, United States
Let's fly to fabulous Las Vegas, a place where I would explode in fun (and earn some money, maybe). I wan't to enter to a casino, and travel through the town in the night.
I would arrive there on airplane (again), and stay there for a week.
I would stay there for months, or maybe years. I don't mind if I keep living there, truly.
5° Mexico DF, Mexico
Let's cross the frontier (legally) and arrive on Mexico, a place where I want to meet dubbing studios like the mythic "Intertrack" (now disappeared), which dubbed Dragon Ball, Kurochan, Kitaro, between other old anime series. Maybe I would try lucky with some dubbing studios hahaha.I would stay there for months, or maybe years. I don't mind if I keep living there, truly.
6° A cafe on Argentina
The last place where I would like to arrive, is Argentina. Not for their tango, not for their culture or their sympathetic mood (hahaha), but their cafe. I heard that take a coup of cofee, reading a book, on an Argentina's cafe is an unic experience.
This would be the last place I would like to stay, in my old age, because I think it gives you peace for enjoy all your time.
This would be the last place I would like to stay, in my old age, because I think it gives you peace for enjoy all your time.
I should arrive there on airplaine, and stay there for weeks, months, or the rest of my life... I don't really mind.

Blog Assignment #7 - The forgotten handwriting
There are few beautiful things that humanity has invented, and writing is far one of the prettiest.
Invented a lot of centuries ago, writting was the start of history, the start of the colective memory, cultivated during millennia. ¿Which form took as first? Obviously the handwriting.
Aforetime, writing had neat strokes, a perfect combination between intention and expresion: the intention to show something from our minds, and the expresion of do it neatly.
I think those years were the best for the writing, because it was (I guess) an enjoyable activity. Later, with the invention of printing, this art was gradually dying, because a new form of writing arose. Maybe at this point, the people was able to mass their intentions, but didn't mass expresion.
Nowadays, our calligraphy has been modified because the printing. Is hard to find a neat letter, hand made. At basic school still is teached calligraphy, but since 4th grade, children starts to learn print writing, because the schools requires a quick writing for them, and them forgets how to write neatly.
Finally I mean two things. First, I love handwriting because I think that it express better my feelings at writing time, than another ways of write (although my calligraphy isn't the best). And second, I don't support the elimination of print, I just think that it can't replace handwriting, because the one, mass better the intentions than the last, but this last, can express a lot with only one word, and if it's hard to find, I think it's better when it's found.

Blog Assignment #6 - Two faces of same coin.
The Public Administration would not be the same without Douglas McGregor, and his famous "Theory X and Theory Y". That's because he was the first who contrasted two visions of an employee: on the one hand an employee that works under pressure (yeah, like Queen's song); and on the other hand an employee that works with incentives.
More in depth we can say that his main contribution was make a paralel model of Taylor's, based on employees optimistic, dynamics and flexibles, ready to work when incentives are enough. Inmediately his second contribution, as I said previously, was contrast this model with one made during scientific school (20th century), supported by Taylor, Fayol and Weber, where the employee is like a gear of a great machine. McGreggor called "X" to this last employee, and "Y" to the first mentioned. Also he said that it is important for an employer identify with which of the two kind of employees are working. This is for know how to treat each employee.
The first time I heard about this man was the last year, during "Organization's Theory", and I understanded his importance because his theory gave way to other theories like "Theory Z" (which studies japanese industry, and proposes a balance between "X" and "Y"), centering the attention on how they treat his employees, for maximize their throughput.
Finally I have only one thing to say: be care of how you treat people, know them first.

Blog Assignment #5 - Right place, right time.
Two years ago, on may 11th, 2012, I saw a mixing of colors in the sky. I asked me what was the reason of it, so I went out, and lost my mind: it was a sunset, the most beautyful sunset I saw in my short life. Well, maybe I'm exaggerating, but it was a moment when each second, each heartbeat, each breath was full of life.
After few minutes, I took my camera, approached to the grill near my home, and took this picture from the same angle where I was looking the sunset for long time alone. After seeing this picture I was more impressed. I saw myself trapped behind the grill, seeking for the sunset which I just can see.
I like this picture because it shows the beautiful sunset I saw, and at the same time shows me enjoying it.

Blog Assignment #4 - Der Prozess
The Trial, my favourite book by Franz Kafka, and the first I read by him. My parents bough me, years ago, when I was a child, a book's collection (it came with the newspaper), so when I was bored, I read those books one by one, until I took on my hands a book with a weird title, by an author that I had never heard before. It was The Trial.
Initially I wasn't interested on read it, because its title suggested me a kind of book relationed with laws and all, and i'm not interested on that topics. However, I gave it a chance, and I read it. The story plunged me on an absurd world, where the protagonist, Joseff K., is dealing with a trial which details he doesn't knows. During his searching for an answer, the author shows to the reader how people, society composed by people, and laws made by people, functions on a disfunctional way. It appears that K. is the only sane person on a world of fools, but as the book progress, he considers the way that he is insane, and the world is right. I loved the book's topic, and it introduced me on the new world of existentialism.
I recommend this book because gives you a chance of think about what's wrong with society, what's wrong with ourselves, a chance of change. The most of people begins to read Kafka with The Metamorphosis, but after I read some books by him, posthumous and unposthumous, I concluded that the real Kafka's essence lives in the writings that he wanted to burn, and The Trial is one of them.

Blog Assignment #3 - The guilty of my deafness
I was not born when sony created walkman, however, i like it. A sony walkman is an artifact for listen to music in anyway, at anytime. At the start, it reproduced cassette, later CD-Rom, and now, mp3 and mp4 formats. It's practicall because you can turn a bored travell on train, car or a simple walking in an enjoyable experience.
When I was a child, my dad gave me a sony walkman for play cassettes (long time ago), so I was able to play my favourite songs, previously recorded from radio stations (I'm feeling like an old man telling this), and this was the start of my love for this artefact. Later, two years ago, he gave me my new walkman, which reproduces mp3, mp4, wav, etc. So, I just load my songs from my PC to the walkman, and it's ready for pleasant hours. Obviously, I must charge it's battery sometimes, but isn't a problem because it's fast.
For all these things I wrote, I simply don't go out without my walkman, because it turned on my ears. That's the reason of the title, I'm losing a little the sense of hearing. Although, I don't care because all my travells turned funny with it.
I can't mind my life without it for this reason. These days, the people is facing the life aggressively, so it helps me to face this people with tolerance and optimism, evading to become myself in one of them.

Blog Assignment #2 - Public affairs, third semester.
I think that all semesters have different and new signatures. There are some exceptions, of course. Administrative Laws "I", for example, is a continuation of Law's signatures that ends the next semester. Administrative Theory and Applied Statistics are another examples of this.
However, I have some signatures that are new for me. That's the case of Science's Theory, which is like phylosophy's history; Microeconomics, which I expected that were similar to Math, but this last is just a little part of the first; and Language "III" (English) ... well, i can't say that this last signature is really "new" for me, but I approved Language "I" and "II" with a test, the last year, so, i haven't spoken english during one entire year, and i lost the practice.
Also, I really wanted to take some extracurriculars, but i had time coincidence with the most of them, so i don't have anyone this semester. I expected to take French and a bizarre course called "Euskera and Basque culture", but that will not happen soon.
Out of signatures, extracurriculars and all that should make me study, I'm a member of a student's radio called Frecuencia Inapina, which born in our carreer. I was announcer of a Rock show called "Headbang", and currently I'm announcer in a new show with an undefined name. Also I'm Programmer of all shows we have (since this year).
For this new academic period I expect to approve all my signatures (obviously) and to take some extracurriculars at 4th semester, but I'm not being hopeful for this, because I dislike "to hope" and "to expect", I prefer to act.

Blog Assignment #1 - This was my life...
![]() |
| My little dog. |
I was born in Santiago, Chile on the 5th of November, 1994. My parents were 18 and 19 years old when I born, so young to form a family. Now I live with my parents and my little brother, who born on the 3rd of August, 2002.
I had lived in this city all my life, so I studied here too. I did my basic education on 4 different schools, because we moved between houses a lot of times. Although, I did my medium education on only one school, on La Florida’s commune and I’m still living here. Now I’m studying my second year of Public Administration at the Universidad de Chile.
I like to play the guitar, sometimes singing too, drawing, reading, anime & manga, videogames, between other hobbies. In the past, I liked to play basketball too, but I threw it away when my sense of vision was deteriorated. For substitute it, sometimes I play some NBA videogames with my friends, isn’t the same but it’s funny
